Winter 26 | The Collection
Husk's Winter 26 Collection Is a Love Letter to Wild Luxury.
I’ve always loved the way winter changes how we think about getting dressed. There’s a little more consideration in every choice. The layers, the textures, the pieces you know you’ll live in all season. A great coat becomes more than something you throw on for warmth. It can define the entire look.
The inspiration for The Makers Forest came to me when I was visiting a friend's farm on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. Leigh is an incredible ceramicist, and her partner John had helped her build her studio on the property. Years before the studio, he’d also built this enormous barn that sits beside it and as I was standing there looking at the two buildings next to one another, I just knew it was the backdrop for this seasons collection.
In my design practice, I'm always trying to find the balance between masculine and feminine, and here were these two structures that perfectly embodied that tension. One made for quiet, careful making, the other built for shelter and utility. The two buildings separately would seem unconnected, with two totally different uses and aesthetics. But knowing Leigh and John, the two buildings side by side repressed them both perfectly.
Simon Lekias was the obvious choice as photographer once I understood I wanted to shoot at these locations. There’s a raw energy and creativity with the way he shoots and I knew it would bring this collection to life perfectly on the farm.
Elements of nature and craft are deeply embedded in Husk’s DNA, and so it was a joy to be able to shoot this collection around the work of these two incredible people that I have the privilege of calling my friends.
The Palette
We always start with colour, and for Winter 26, I wanted it to feel like the season itself. Berry, khaki, olive and chocolate, colours that are grounded and rich, the kind that make you feel anchored when you put them on. Then putty, chalk, and warm neutrals to create breathing room. The metallics, just enough to lift the whole thing. Not flashy but present in the way a really good accessory is.
What we love about this palette is how hard it works in real life. It photographs beautifully, but more importantly, it fits into any wardrobe. One piece can carry you from the morning to well after dark without missing a beat.
Outerwear First
I've always believed that a coat should be the first decision you make, not the last. For Winter 26, we wanted to commit to that idea, to position outerwear as the cornerstone of the wardrobe, the piece everything else is built around. The coats this season are sculptural and richly textured. They're the kind of investment you make once and reach for for years.
Tailoring With a Point of View
The tailoring this season has an energy to it that the team found really exciting. Checked long-line suits, pinstriped pleated skirts, embellished blazers, it's bold but not loud. A strong silhouette speaks for itself, and that's very much the philosophy here. These are pieces for a woman who knows exactly what she's doing when she gets dressed.
Knitwear as a Ritual
There's something about the role knitwear plays in a winter wardrobe. It's the thing you reach for instinctively on a cold morning. The piece you don't want to take off. This season we’ve taken the knit offering across the full spectrum. From lightweight cashmere and merino layers through to angora and bouclé longline coatigans. It’s been a real step up for our knitwear offering, and the team has worked hard to deliver something for everyone.
Prints That Do Something
We’re particularly proud of the print direction this season. Bold geometrics and cameo motifs. Husk has never been afraid of prints and it’s a real strength of the brand that is celebrated every season.
The Makers Forest is a collection built for real life. For the woman who dresses with intention and wears things on her own terms.
